Yet, another soil enhancement job!
There are some
occasions when a less evasive method must be used to enhance the lawn seed
bed. In this case there is an irrigation system installed on this property
that might sustain damage with the deep tilling method shown in the previous
example, shown here.
A pine bark
soil conditioner is applied evenly over the lawn. |
 
 
| The aerator
loosens the topsoil and gently tills the pine bark soil conditioner into
the seed bed. Notice that the irrigation line is carefully marked with
orange flags so special care can be taken not to disturb them. |
 
 
| Rolling the
surface with a lawn roller will set the seed in contact with the soil.
Notice the existing grass can still be seen poking out from the new topsoil.
Finally we are sure to smooth and level the bed by dragging the chain link
fence across the surface. It won't be long before this lawn is healthy
and green! |
