Lawn Seedbed Restoration
1. 2.

1. Lush, green, beautiful lawns are the prime objective of Specialized Landscape Services.

2. Since much of the time spent and expense incurred is in equipment, labor, and other supplies we recommend considering using the maximum amount of compost. When considering the cost of this one time application doing this is both wise and cost effective.

3. Using tillage tools we rip and scarify the soil, spread out the compost and begin to work the two mediums together. This lawnspace is ready to begin the final grading. Notice the difference in color of the two soils.

4. This is one of our favorite tools to mix the compost into the native clay soil. It also helps to level the lawnspace. The footprints in the soil illustrate the looseness of the renovated seedbed.

5. The benefits of improved soil are many and appreciated especially by fescue turf. The most notable benefit is reduced water requirements. Our methods leave the soil porous and eager to soak up water. Compacted clay does not have this important characteristic. Quick penetration of water through the soil surface reduces run off and maximizes the benefits of rain and irrigation.

6. Employing this scrap of chain link fence is the last process prior to seeding or sodding the new lawn.

7. This is a close up picture of the finished seed bed. The crevasses and organic matter on the soil surface gives seeds a place to fall into reducing the possibility of washing away during irrigation efforts. The round object in the picture is a nickel.

8. The finished product is a lush, beautiful lawn that will bring you years of enjoyment and pride.
